Fix SQL Error 5228

Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system that is widely used for managing large volumes of data in large databases in a systematic way. But sometimes due to corruption in the database due to any reason, one may encounter several error messages like the SQL error 5228 and an error message like the following:

"Table error: Object ID O_ID, index ID I_ID, partition ID PN_ID, alloc unit ID A_ID (type TYPE), page PG_ID, row R_ID. DBCC detected incomplete cleanup from an online index build operation. (Antimatter column value is VALUE.)"

The most common reasons for the occurrence of the SQL error 5228 is the identification of an unfinished index for O_ID object, and an PN_ID partition. The presence of such a situation arises mostly because of corruption to the database.

But if the corruption is severe then the command fails to execute. Also make sure that your PC does not have any write-caching enabled on disk controller. If any problems with the write-caching cannot be fixed easily then you need to contact the hardware vendor. To fix the SQL error 5228 one can run the DBCC CHECKDB command and locate the real cause of the error. Execute the command without the repair clause and when it returns a repair clause run the DBCC CHECKDB command with the repair clause can find out the cause of the SQL error 5228. Also check all the hardware components and swap the components to locate the faulty component. Check the error logs that are malfunctioning.

In such a situation one needs to make use of an efficient and reliable third party MDF repair utility that can repair the SQL database and ensure complete SQL recovery. It makes use of strong scanning algorithms that make it possible for for repairing the database and making the entire data stored in it once more accessible.
